Why do I write songs that are hard for me to play?

the eternal quandary... there are a lot of tunes on my new album that took me a LOT of takes to get right, and are still a struggle live. Hopefully the end results are worth the effort... :)

Yes- and you have the added complexity of the way you use gear. It's another layer of performance on TOP of playing the instrument.

BTW - your new stuff is really great Steve. Can't wait to hear the rest of it.
