Late Night Questions . . .second thoughts

Comments

You would probably get used to the string spacing but if you're going to be changing to other instruments with different string spacings, it could still be problematic. I forgot what my string spacing is but I'm sure it's narrower than that 6'er. I love it. I find it hard to play wider string spacing instruments now.

Unless you're planning on using the money to put down on another 6'er, I'd vote to keep that one. You'll never find a lefty 6'er with that tuning around for that price from anyone else. Except maybe Wishnevsky. :-)

Dude, you really need to work with a luthier and get a bass built to YOUR specs. You're way to picky to play this buying and selling game... My suggestion would be Sei bass in london - it'd involve coming over here, but in the grand scheme of things, if it gets you the bass you need, it'd be worth it.

But you've got to do something. This is getting insane... ;o)

Yes - the insanity must stop. I agree!

With each bass I learn at least 1 more thing about what I really need an instrument to do for me.

FWIW - Joe Zon and I have a meeting scheduled for next week. We'll see how that goes.

So... since everyone will begin offering their advice on your next bass purchase...

I STRONGLY suggest Chris Stambaugh (you actually saw my fretless Stambaugh 6 at SF Bass Weekend).

Price-wise: it won't be too much more than you paid for the Carvin. Really.

And, obviously, it's a REAL custom. Chris' work is amazing and will work with you to get what you want/need.
